The reconstruction of Martinić Road in the municipality of Danilovgrad should be completed in two months, and the 5,41 million euro job, carried out by the company "Putevi Bar", has been delayed due to adverse weather conditions, unresolved property and legal relations, and other works.
This was officially stated to "Vijesti" by the Municipality of Danilovgrad.
The reconstruction of the 8,6-kilometer section began in early May last year, with a construction deadline of seven months. This means that the works were supposed to be completed by the end of 2024, but the deadline has been extended by an additional three months, and now by another two months.
"The reconstruction works have not yet been completed, and the reasons are unfavorable weather conditions, unresolved property-legal relations, and the amount of additional work. As the works are in the final phase, their completion is planned for 60 days. The contractor has hired subcontractors: 'Briv Construction' and 'Ekvidanska'. The supervision of the works is carried out by the company 'Geotechnics, projects & consulting'. As part of the reconstruction, the roadway will be widened, as well as the construction of sidewalks on both sides on one part of the roadway, which includes the General Urban Development (GUR) Spuža, while the sidewalk will be built on one side of the road for the rest of the route," said the Municipality of Danilovgrad.
The tender for the reconstruction of Martinić Road, namely the Pažići-Spuž-Stologlav section, was announced on December 6, 2023, but no company applied for it at that time. The new tender was announced on January 17, 2024, ended at the end of February, and “Putevi Bar” was selected as the most favorable contractor. The contract with that company was signed at the end of March last year.

The road reconstruction was carried out in two phases, five kilometers in the first and 3,5 kilometers in the second.
The original project for this section was done in 2018, when the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) was in power in Danilovgrad, and was later changed due to the lack of railroad crossings, leveling of the bridge, missing sidewalks and bus stops...
The start of the reconstruction of Martinić Road was made official in the summer of 2020, when the then Prime Minister Duško Marković and the then Mayor Zorica Kovačević toured the section. The local DPS government was replaced in late 2022 by a coalition of the Europe Now Movement, the Democrats, the Democratic Front, and the Civic Movement URA.
The Municipality of Danilovgrad previously told "Vijesti" that numerous irregularities were observed in the project commissioned by the previous administration, including the absence of railway crossings, urban and technical conditions (UTU), leveling at the Radovića Bridge, sidewalks and bus stops, and neglect of the specifics of the terrain configuration...
They stated that the original project was done in November 2018, for which the previous local government paid 47,19 thousand euros to the company "GPC", but that due to these technical shortcomings, a new project was made that included everything. That project was done by the company "SIMM inženjering".
They claim that the new project has supplemented the shortcomings of the previous one, provided for sidewalks along the entire length of the section on the left side, on the stretch of GUR Spuž on both sides, as well as bus stops, loggias for containers, and that the issue of water drainage has been resolved more thoroughly. The development of this project, they said, was paid for 26,25 thousand euros. The revision of the project was then contracted in August 2023 with the company "Vigoris ecotech", which cost 5,44 thousand euros.
The Municipality of Danilovgrad initially selected the company "Gradnja Promet" as the contractor, but the contract with it was terminated by mutual agreement.
The fact that the road was in poor condition before the start of the works last year is also evidenced by the fact that the Municipality of Danilovgrad also purchased a concrete cutter, vibrating plates, and a motor blower, in order to repair the potholes before the start of the reconstruction.
The original project for Martinićki put was done in 2018 while the Democratic Party of Socialists was in power in Danilovgrad, and was later amended due to a lack of level crossings, bridge leveling, missing sidewalks and bus stops...
