The Administration and Judiciary Union of Montenegro requested a meeting today with the Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Montenegro, Johann Sattler.
The union today submitted a document to the EU Delegation requesting a meeting with Sattler, which states, among other things, that the problems of public administration are currently the greatest compared to all workers in other sectors in Montenegro.
"Your Excellency,
"With warm and sincere greetings, we address you with the great workload that has occupied us in recent years, which culminated and forced us to officially come and address you," states the document signed by the president of the Administration and Judiciary Union, Nenad Rakočević, and which "Vijesti" had access to.
The Trade Union of Administration and Judiciary of Montenegro states that it is the largest branch union in Montenegro, with around 10.000 members, and that it indirectly represents 23.000 employees in public administration and the judiciary.
"The problems of this sector are currently the greatest compared to all workers in other sectors that exist in Montenegro. Last year, as well as this year, we organized protests as the last form and way to at least slightly improve our social position, standard, and generally improve the situation in public administration and the judiciary, which has never been at a lower level. The arguments, evidence and information that we have in our possession and that we receive every day, about the state of public administration and actions at all levels in a large number of bodies and institutions, indicate not only an uncertain future, but also concrete indications of a severe collapse and a major misdirection that the country has taken," it is written in a document that the Union of Administration and Judiciary Workers submitted to the EU Delegation.
The document adds that "declarative, fabricated and fictitious information that can often be heard both through the public and directly from the highest levels of government pose a serious problem to our approach to membership in the European Union, and we are fully convinced that you are familiar with this state of affairs."
"Our intention is sincere and patriotic. In this regard, we wish to contribute to the improvement of the state and quality of public administration within our capabilities, and we are addressing you officially in this way, so that we can arrange a meeting as soon as possible, at which we would present to you, at least in the shortest essential form, our general situation, as well as the possibilities of overcoming the problems from our perspective. We believe that a conversation with your delegation would be of mutual benefit and can only produce positive effects, bearing in mind the narrative of the SIGMA report on the state and reform of public administration in Montenegro," the document states.
In the same document, Rakočević stated that it was an honor and pleasure for him to be a participant in the presentation of the report at the session of the Public Administration Reform Council on March 7, which was also attended by Satler.
"This gave us the impetus and will to continue in our intention, this time we hope, together with you and the members of your delegation, towards the right path of healing and true reform of public administration as a crucial part of every state," the document of the Union of Administration and Justice states.
