The prosecution is also investigating the responsibility of employees at the Department of the Institute for Children's Diseases.

The Clinical Center and the ODT are also investigating how a Turkish citizen entered the neonatology ward through a window without hindrance and took the child;

Due to the protection of the procedure, the KCCG is not answering whether it is true that the baby was taken from the incubator and where the medical staff was at that moment.

The Podgorica Basic State Prosecutor's Office will also investigate whether any of the employees at the Institute for Children's Diseases of the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) negligently performed their official duty when a Turkish citizen entered the neonatology department through a window in the middle of the night a few days ago and took his child without permission.

This follows from the response of the Basic State Prosecutor's Office (ODT), submitted to the inquiry of "Vijesti". At the same time, the largest healthcare institution is also undertaking investigative actions to determine whether there is any liability on the part of its employees.

The ODT reminded that they have opened a case against two Turkish citizens. G. M. C. i GP, due to reasonable suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of child abduction. They said that the case is in the investigation phase and that in order to protect the interests of the procedure, it is not possible to disclose more details. Asked whether a case has been opened against employees of the Department of the Institute for Children's Diseases on suspicion of negligent performance of duty, given the fact that the Turkish citizen found himself in the room with the babies almost unnoticed, the ODT said that this will be investigated within the framework of the already opened case.

The KCCG announced on Monday that a foreign citizen from the Institute for Children's Diseases took his own child without permission and that they had reported the case to the police.

They explained that the child was treated at the Institute from March 9 to March 24, when he was scheduled to be discharged, with the parents required to submit the necessary documentation to cover the costs of hospital treatment. The institution assumes that he was taken out of the institution without permission in order to avoid paying the treatment costs of 1.498 euros.

"Vijesti" asked KCCG whether the baby was in the incubator, where the staff was at that moment, and whether the institution would initiate proceedings against the medical team on duty that evening.

"In the context of the responsibility of the KCCG staff, as well as in all situations where there is a basis for suspicion regarding the responsibility or quality of the provision of health services, in accordance with all applicable legal provisions and acts of the institution, we have initiated investigative actions to determine whether there are elements of responsibility on the basis of which further procedures would be carried out," the response from the institution headed by Dr. Aleksandar Radovic.

They also recalled that when informing the public about this case, they indicated that KCCG would not disclose additional information regarding the event, given that in this regard, and in accordance with legal obligations, they reported the case to the competent authorities, who are further implementing appropriate actions and procedures.

Due to the case of the removal of a child from the neonatology department, the director of the KCCG held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey.

The KCCG announced that at the meeting it was determined that the Turkish citizen would settle the obligations arising from hospital treatment in the amount of 1.498,00 euros.

"Having considered the situation, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey informed that the Embassy will provide the KCCG with a list of authorized translators who can perform translations for Turkish citizens undergoing treatment at our institution in the future, and that they will certainly strive to ensure the possibility of engaging translators by Turkish institutions in the future," it was announced.

In this way, they conclude, citizens of the Republic of Turkey will be provided with a clearer and easier insight into the conditions and administrative procedures of treatment at the KCCG.
