The Minister of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property, Slaven Radunović, intends to transfer state property to the Municipality of Pljevlja, so that it can further cede the land to the private owner of the announced university, the Center for Civic Education (CCE) announced.
They said they were warning of "an increasingly obvious trend of misuse of state property."
"According to information from the Agency for Quality Control in Higher Education, the founders of that university did not even submit basic documentation, which casts additional doubt on the entire process and raises the question of why only one private individual is being selectively and discretionarily supported. We welcome the fact that the Minister of Education clearly opposed this, but we emphasize that this case must be addressed by the ASK and the Prosecutor's Office, as it is a potential threat to the public interest and the basis for corrupt actions," the statement said.
"We also recall the case in Tivat, where the Minister of Defense decided to cede 4.000 m² to the Municipality of Tivat, part of which will be handed over to the Serbian Orthodox Church for the construction of a religious building - without a prior public analysis of the needs of citizens," it added.
CCE said that such practices are reminiscent of previous harmful decisions, which, they claim, continuously weaken trust in institutions.
