Kotor residents protested today in Radanovići, expressing their dissatisfaction with the failure to install sewage infrastructure along the route of the future Tivat-Jaz boulevard.
As reported by Radio Kotor, the protest was organized by the local communities of Radanovići and Gornji Grbalj.
The president of the Radanovići local community, Mirko Kordić, said that this local community is currently the most endangered in the territory of Montenegro.
"We had a firm promise from the Municipality of Kotor that the project documentation had been completed and that the sewage pipe would go to Radanovići. However, since the Municipality of Kotor has no communication with the Radanovići Local Community, nor does it inform us about new projects being carried out on our territory, they have also hidden this problem, that they have not fulfilled their promise - an agreement with the Government of Montenegro on the preparation of project documentation. We accidentally found out that during the construction of the boulevard we will not receive a connection to the regional water supply system or sewage infrastructure," said Kordić, reported Radio Kotor.
As he states, they contacted and informed representatives of the Gornji Grbalj Local Community, and agreed to try to solve the pressing problems together.
They sent a letter to the Government, the European Bank, the Regional Water Supply Company, the Transport Administration, and the Ministry of Spatial Planning and Urbanism and State Property.
Kordić said that they only received a response from the Traffic Administration, stating that the Municipality of Kotor is the main culprit for the existing problem.
"We simply forwarded the letter we received from the Traffic Administration to the Mayor of Kotor and asked him to receive us, to try to solve this problem together. However, both then and to this day, the Municipality of Kotor has not sent any written evidence or any letter to the aforementioned local communities," said Kordić.
He added that they only received feedback after the announced protest and the blockade of part of the Adriatic Highway.
"The Director of the Traffic Administration, Radomir Vuksanović, called me on the phone and promised us to take his word for it, that the Government of Montenegro had also gotten involved, that Prime Minister Milojko Spajić was aware of the problem, and he promised us a meeting with him this week. That is why the Initiative Committee decided not to stop traffic today, but to express our dissatisfaction with a peaceful protest," said Kordić.
He pointed out that if this problem is not resolved, they are ready to stop traffic and the contractor.
As Radio Kotor has learned, the Mayor of Kotor, Vladimir Jokić, promised to get involved in resolving the situation in a telephone conversation with the president of the Gornji Grbalj Local Community, Ljubo Nikaljević.
Nikaljević, according to Radio Kotor, agreed with the words and position of the president of the Radanovići Local Community, and in addition to representatives of the local government, took the opportunity to invite the President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Andrija Mandić.
"I call on him to turn to Grbalj and try to solve the burning problem for the entire Grbalj and the municipality of Kotor. I also call on Mr. Milan Knežević and of course Aleksa Bečić, to all turn to Grbalj, because they know very well how much Grbalj has been worth to them for the last 30 years, especially in the political struggle they waged against the former government," said Nikaljević.
