The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MESI) has provided 100 thousand euros for the next three years to finance the University of Montenegro (UCG) within the European University Network Ulysseus.
As announced by the Ministry of National Education and Research, the Government session adopted information on co-financing the leading initiative of the European Union (EU), the European University Ulysseus, of which the University of Montenegro is a full member.
"UCG has been provided with co-financing of 100 thousand euros for the next three years to utilize the opportunities within the Ulysseus Alliance," the statement said.
It is added that the money will be directed towards financing the mobility of students and academic staff of the University of Montenegro, support for research projects, student initiatives, as well as the development of the Cybersecurity Innovation Hub.
"Membership in this network already brings significant benefits and opens up new opportunities for internationalization and improvement of study, research and academic processes at the University of Montenegro, but also more broadly, for all institutions in Montenegro," said the Ministry of Education and Research.
As they emphasized, this way a long-term impact on the development of society is achieved.
"The most important initiatives in the work plan relate to the creation of dual and joint study programs, lifelong and professional learning programs, joint research projects, the creation of an Innovation Hub for Cybersecurity at the University of Montenegro, and numerous others," explained the Ministry of National Education and Research.
The government department said that all activities are permeated by a large number of mobility of students, professors, and non-teaching staff.
"Where the ambitious goal of covering half of these target groups with some form of mobility (online or physical) has been set," the statement said.
As stated by the MPBI, this would materialize the vision of a "European University without Borders" between the eight partner institutions.
"In addition to seven partner institutions, the University of Montenegro, as the only university from a non-EU country, participates in this prestigious network supported through a special line of the EU Erasmus+ program," said the Ministry of Education and Research.
They pointed out that "European Universities" are one of the most important instruments of EU policy in higher education.
"Through membership in the Ulysseus alliance, the University of Montenegro is already part of the EU, that is, the European Higher Education Area, which is the result of many years of persistent work on the internationalization of the University of Montenegro," the statement concludes.
