Minister of European Affairs Maida Gorčević and her associates paid a working visit to the Municipality of Tivat.

The visit, as announced by the Government, is part of the project "EU4ME - Support for Communication of the European Integration Process".

A meeting was held in the Municipality between Gorčević and the President of the Municipality of Tivat, Željko Komnenović, and his associates.

She then visited the "Bambi" Public Health Unit where she attended a workshop for children in a Tivat kindergarten, entitled "Recycling in Color: We Protect Nature".

Accompanied by Komnenović, outgoing Vice President of the Municipality of Tivat Jovan Brinić and President of the local parliament Miljan Marković, Gorčević also visited the "Mladost" Secondary Mixed School, where a professional kitchen for practical training of catering students was previously equipped as part of the Interreg IPA project "CUHaCHA".

The students had the opportunity to talk with the minister and leaders of the Tivat Municipality.

"Today's visit to Tivat is another indicator of how important it is that we have the topic of European integration in the local community. With the Mayor, I also visited the 'Mladost' Secondary School, and we also had a workshop in the 'Bambi' kindergarten. This was an opportunity to talk with the city leadership about projects, about improving our cooperation, but also about the European path and what Montenegro has an obligation to do by the end of our negotiation process," said Gorčević.

Komnenović said that, among other things, they discussed European funds and projects that could be implemented in Tivat.

"I am glad that we spoke about helping local communities in European integration. We have been very successful in implementing projects from international funds. I hope that we will maintain this pace. Let me remind you that we have acquired an electric bus through IPA funds, and we will acquire another one. Perspectives are also opening up for improving urban mobility. We will also work on waste recycling, waste collection, and all other projects. I hope that there will be an opportunity to discuss other projects soon," said Komnenović.
