The new facility of the "Vladimir Nazor" Elementary School, worth 7,2 million euros, was opened today in the Podgorica neighborhood of Masline.
As announced by the Government, the school has a capacity for 1.200 students, with 29 modernly equipped classrooms, a library, a multimedia classroom, and a reconstructed gymnasium.
The school was opened by Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, Anđela Jakšić-Stojanović, Head of the European Union Delegation to Montenegro, Johan Sattler, and school director Ljiljana Marković.
"Let the new school be a place where new ideas will be born that will shape the future of some new generations, a place where our young people will grow into leaders, scientists and innovators of the future," said Jakšić Stojanović.
Sattler, the government announced, emphasized the importance of joint efforts and long-term investment in education.
"This beautiful new school is proof of how much we can achieve when we work together - and it is an expression of our sincere commitment to children, educators and the entire community. The European Union provided more than half of the funds for the construction of this school, and additional support came as a gift - a donation from European countries. We are proud to invest in a space where knowledge grows, children thrive and new opportunities are born," said Satler.

Thanking the students, parents and school staff for their patience and perseverance in jointly overcoming challenges in organizing teaching, Marković said that from this moment on, they are turning to a new stage in the history of the school, which dates back to 1958.
The new school building was financed 63 percent from a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB), 30 percent from a grant from the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF) and bilateral donors, and seven percent from the budget.
Construction of the school began in 2023, after the old building was demolished for safety reasons. Since 2021, students have attended classes at the "Marko Miljanov" schools in Konik, the "Luča" Gymnasium in Doljani, and the "Novka Ubović" in Tološi.
