High school students from several Montenegrin cities visited the "Milovan Šaranović" barracks in Danilovgrad today.
As announced by the Ministry of Defense, 130 students from the "Slobodan Škerović" Gymnasium and the "Mirko Vešović" High School of Economics in Podgorica, as well as gymnasiums in Nikšić and Danilovgrad, had the opportunity to learn about the work and career opportunities in the Armed Forces of Montenegro (AFM).
"Hosts from the Training Center, the 1st Infantry Battalion and other units presented military equipment and weapons to the young people, as well as the daily tasks and activities of members of the Armed Forces of Montenegro," the statement said.
It is stated that, during the visit, a helicopter rescue operation was demonstrated, basic first aid was presented, and a competition in orienteering was organized - the skill of navigating in nature with the help of a map and compass.
The Ministry said that the students tried their hand at sports activities, and the visit ended with a joint lunch, where the high school students had the opportunity to try traditional military beans.
The students were also presented with current competitions for education at military academies abroad - in Austria, Italy, Turkey and North Macedonia.
The students were presented with advertisements and provided with basic information about the requirements, application process, and benefits of education at these prestigious military institutions.
