There is no waiting list for verified oncology patients at the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) and they are treated immediately, the health institution announced.
Regarding the information presented during the parliamentary session, which relates to the surgical care of oncology patients, the KCCG said that oncology patients undergo the surgical procedure within 30 days.
The KCCG said that they treat the needs of oncology patients with special respect.
"We are proud of the fact that our institution is the only one in the region and beyond that does not have a waiting list for radiotherapy (radiation therapy) and chemotherapy (the use of cytostatics). Patients wait up to a month for skeletal scintigraphy, while they wait 15 to 30 days for surgery," the statement says.
The KCCG emphasized that there is no waiting list for all verified oncology patients because they are treated immediately.
"In some patients, the timing of surgical care may depend on the diagnostic procedure, which, due to its specificity, requires a certain amount of time. However, even in these cases, they are treated within 30 days," the statement added.
The KCCG said that they are proud of the cooperation between their organizational units and the Institute of Oncology, since oncology patients are cared for in a multidisciplinary manner.
"It was their work that contributed to the most vulnerable patients receiving healthcare services in a very short time," the statement said.
It is stated that the Center for Radiological Diagnostics has established a protocol for oncology patients and patients who have a proposal for priority imaging.
"Thus, we provided them with the necessary MSCT examination at a time that is consistent with a follow-up examination by an oncologist or other specialist," said the KCCG.
As they stated, oncology and priority patients submit their medical documentation to the Center for Radiological Diagnostics, where, after reviewing the documentation, they are assigned a timely appointment.
"Also, since November 11th of last year, a new method of scheduling MRI examinations has been implemented at the KCCG, so that according to the new protocols, the Council of Radiologists schedules the patient for imaging immediately and issues a referral," the KCCG statement added.
According to them, in this way, they not only simplified the procedures for scheduling MRI examinations, but also accelerated the process of obtaining appointments for oncology and priority patients.
"Therefore, if the Council assesses that the scan is a priority, and there are no appointments at the KCCG, it gives an opinion based on which the patient can immediately schedule an examination at a private healthcare institution with which the Health Insurance Fund has a signed contract without the need to go to the chosen doctor for a new referral," explained the KCCG.
