Last year, regular transportation did not operate, and "Putevi" called on citizens to refund taxi bills.

Public transport will be available to the citizens of Podgorica during the Easter holidays, and each line will be covered by one bus, said Radoš Zečević, executive director of the Podgorica company "Putevi", to "Vijesti".

The Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Dialogue announced that April 18, 20, and 21 will be non-working days due to the upcoming religious holiday of Easter.

According to Zečević, the timetable for the Easter holidays "will be like the regular Sunday timetable."

"Each line will be covered by one bus. We have organized so that everyone who celebrates the holiday has a day off, and those who do not celebrate will drive during the holiday. We have no problems," explained Zečević, pointing out that citizens already know the Sunday timetable.

Responding to the question of whether "Putevi" will refund citizens' taxi fares, as was the case last year, Zečević said that he would not.

"There will be no refunds for taxi rides, because buses will run on a reduced schedule," he replied briefly.

As "Vijesti" previously wrote, last year Zečević himself paid the transportation costs for citizens who, due to the decision at the time that city buses would not operate on Varskrs, used taxis.

It is not known how much "lighter" Zečević's pocket was due to the decision to park the buses that day, because "Putevi" did not respond to the editorial staff, nor to councilor Miloš Mašković.

The response that the councilor received from the local "Putevi" stated that the company did not allocate funds for that purpose.

"... Because the director decided that he himself would refund the costs to citizens who come with taxi receipts. 'Putevi' doo did not allocate funds for that purpose," read the response that Zečević submitted to the councilor's inquiry.

The response also did not state the amount involved, nor how many citizens requested and received a refund for their transportation costs. It also did not state how citizens contacted Zečević and "Putevi" to exercise their right to a refund.
