Regarding yesterday's text, published in the media, for the sake of more precise information, we would like to inform you that we are aware that a case has already been opened in the Basic State Prosecutor's Office (ODT) in Cetinje in order to determine the elements of a criminal offense, for which prosecution is being undertaken ex officio, and that an investigation is underway, in which all measures and actions are being taken in cooperation with the Cetinje Security Department (OB) and the competent inspections, the National Parks of Montenegro (NPCG) announced today.
"After conducting expert assessments and receiving responses from the competent inspections, the state prosecutor will declare the legal qualification of the criminal offense," the NPCG statement states.
"We would like to remind you that the construction of floating bungalows has been underway since October 2024 without documentation and the necessary permits from the competent state authorities. Also, these facilities were in the spotlight of the public in the previous period, when they floated freely on Lake Skadar on two occasions due to storms. The Skadar Lake National Park Protection Service secured these facilities in order to prevent consequences for biodiversity," the NPCG statement states.
They added that the Skadar Lake NP has filed several reports regarding these illegal facilities to the Cetinje Communal Inspection, the Environmental and Construction Inspection, as well as the Maritime Safety Inspection.
"The Skadar Lake National Park on this occasion appeals to all state authorities to take measures and actions within their jurisdiction in order to preserve the Karuč Eye and combat illegal construction in this protected natural area," the NPCG statement reads.
The NPCG announced yesterday that the Skadar Lake NP Protection Service received a report from the residents of Karuč that the construction of illegal floating structures is continuing in the Karuč bay.
The NPCG stated in the statement that the construction of these facilities has been underway since October 2024 without documentation and necessary permits from the competent state authorities.
"Also, these objects were the focus of public attention when they floated freely on Lake Skadar on two occasions due to storms. Both times, the Skadar Lake NP Protection Service, in order to prevent consequences for biodiversity, secured the objects and returned them to the Karuč area. The Skadar Lake NP filed several reports regarding these illegal objects to the Cetinje Municipal Inspection, the Police Directorate, the ODT, the Environmental and Construction Inspection, as well as the Maritime Safety Inspection. Unfortunately for the locals, nature and Lake Skadar, all were unsuccessful. All inspections declared themselves incompetent in this case," the NPCG said yesterday.
