Minister of Culture and Media Tamara Vujović sent a telegram of condolences on the death of Pope Francis.
"On the occasion of the death of Pope Francis, which brought great sadness this Easter morning to the entire Catholic world, I extend my most sincere condolences to the Bishop of the Archdiocese of Bar, Msgr. Rok Đonlešaj, the Bishop of the Diocese of Kotor, Msgr. Mladen Vukšić, and all believers of the Catholic faith in Montenegro. May the death of Pope Francis, which occurred during the greatest Christian holiday of Easter, remind us of his messages of hope, faith, and unity among people," said Vujović.
Pope Francis died at the age of 88 in the Vatican.
Vujović also said that Pope Francis will be remembered as a spiritual leader who promoted the universal values of peace, dialogue and solidarity.
"His dedication to marginalized communities and tireless fight for justice and dignity for all will leave an indelible mark on the contemporary history of humanity. In these moments of sorrow, we share the pain with the Catholic community and express our respect for the legacy that Pope Francis left behind," said Vujović.
