The Ministry of European Affairs, with the support of the EU4ME project, organized an interactive workshop for children from the "Bambi" kindergarten in Tivat last week on the occasion of Earth Day.

"Through entertaining and educational content, children are introduced to the world of recycling and the importance of preserving the planet in a way they understand and love," reads a joint statement from the Ministry and the European House.

The workshop was attended by the Minister of European Affairs Maida Gorčević and the Mayor of Tivat Željko Komnenović, who emphasized the importance of developing environmental awareness from an early age. Children were given educational coloring books so that they could continue learning about nature protection through play at home.

With interactive games and activities, children learned what recycling means, why it is important and in what ways they can contribute to preserving nature. "The animated characters Eko Ema and Recikla Dobrić attracted special attention, through whose stories the children learned how to properly recycle plastic and why it is important to preserve nature," the statement reads.

The children had the opportunity to see an eco-board and an eco-pole made from recycled plastic, as well as to participate in assembling a relief of Montenegro made by 3D printing from the same material. This relief is part of the board game "Eco Adventure", produced by the "Do Good" Foundation.

With the support of the EU4ME project funded by the Delegation of the European Union to Montenegro, the Ministry of European Affairs donated three eco-benches and three 3-in-1 eco-bins for the separate collection of plastic, paper and glass to the kindergarten.

All donations are made from recycled plastic, the processing of which has removed more than 200 kilograms of waste from nature.

The event was implemented within the project "Support to the Government of Montenegro in communicating the EU accession process and EU assistance in Montenegro - EU4ME", which aims to improve communication with citizens, "increase understanding of EU integration and bring the benefits that EU membership brings to every individual", the statement reads.
