The Municipality of Tivat, not counting the vehicle fleet of the local Protection and Rescue Service, has a total of 16 official vehicles, a number of which are not used at all for the needs of that local administration, but are ceded to various other local and state institutions.

This is shown by data from the Secretariat for Local Government.

Last year, two new official cars, the "Škoda Fabia" and the "Škoda Scala" were purchased for the needs of the Secretariat for Communal and Inspection Supervision, and a total of 35.840 euros were allocated for their purchase. This is the second time in the last two years that the distributor of "Škoda" for Montenegro, the company "Autotamaris" from Tivat, has made the most favorable offers and won the contract to deliver new official cars, because in August 2023, three new official cars were already purchased from "Autotamarius" for a total of 99.600 euros including VAT, a luxury limousine of the "Škoda Superb" brand for the needs of the President of the Municipality and two limousines of the "Škoda Octavia" brand, one for the President of the local parliament, and the other for the general and protocol needs of the Secretariat for Local Administration.

According to the data of that Secretariat, based on the fuel supply contract concluded with the company "Jugopetrol" from Podgorica, the total fuel consumption costs for all official cars used by all local government bodies amounted to 27.313 euros. Last year, the Municipality spent 5.986 euros on regular servicing and various emergency repairs of official vehicles, while in accordance with the contract concluded with the company "Rotor" from Tivat, the amount of 3.734 euros was spent on the registration of official vehicles. Last year, the Municipality paid a total of 2.910 euros to the company "Tip Top" from Tivat for washing official cars.

"In the Municipality of Tivat, official vehicles are used exclusively for official purposes. No official uses an official vehicle for personal needs 24 hours a day," the Secretariat for Local Government stated.

However, unlike in the previous period, the valid decision of the Mayor on the distribution of official vehicles currently active in the fleet is currently not available on the Municipality's website, i.e. there is no information available on which body or official owns or uses which official car.

It is interesting that last year, new vehicles were purchased for the needs of the Secretariat for Communal and Inspection Supervision, as well as another older official car that was taken over by the Communal Police in the meantime, branded with inscriptions exclusively in Cyrillic script, while previously Latin script was used for inscriptions on official Municipality vehicles.

The local government continued to be generous towards other local or state institutions during the past year, to which the Municipality donated or lent some of its official vehicles for free use. Thus, following a decision by the local parliament last year, the Municipality of Žabljak donated a "dacia sandero" patrol vehicle of the Municipal Police, while the local government donated a special fire truck with a hydraulic platform for interventions at heights to the Protection and Rescue Service of the Municipality of Kotor.

The Tivat Security Department was recently given a "Dacia Sandero Stepway" vehicle from the Municipal Inspection for free use, with the obligation to cover maintenance and registration costs. The Tivat Police Department has already been given two municipal "Ford C-Max", one "Ford Mondeo" and one "Golf V" for use.

In addition to them, other institutions also use municipal official cars "Hyundai I 10" which was given to the Tivat Red Cross, "Renault Thalia" which is used by the local company "Wastewater Treatment Plant", "Renault Megane" which was given to the Center for Social Work - Tivat regional unit, and the "Volkswagen Cafter" van which was given to the local Public Institution Daily Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities and Developmental Difficulties Tivat. Although it owns three vans, this Public Institution, whose founder and sole owner is the Municipality, recently purchased another new official vehicle for all its needs, a luxury "Skoda" limousine worth almost 40.000 euros, following a tender.
