At today's session, the Assembly of the Royal Capital adopted the Report on the Work of the Mayor, Local Government Bodies and Services for 2024.

Reflecting on the reporting period, Mayor Nikola Đurašković said that the city administration achieved significant results for Cetinje and all its citizens, and that the past year was marked by numerous challenges, but also by perseverance and joint efforts to make Cetinje an even more desirable place to live, work and develop.

He particularly emphasized that the debt of the Royal Capital of Cetinje was reduced by around 2,5 million euros.

"We have built and reconstructed road and public infrastructure, opened new sports facilities and numerous playgrounds, worked dedicatedly on the development of rural areas, creating new jobs and creating a new tourist offer. At the same time, we have pursued a responsible social policy through numerous support programs such as free kindergarten for our youngest citizens, free transportation for pensioners, financing the costs of medically assisted fertilization and other initiatives that aim to influence the demographic picture and encourage young people to stay, start families and build their future in our city," said Đurašković, as announced by the Royal Capital.

He added that the reporting period was marked by the dedicated and committed work of all local government bodies and services, aimed at further developing the city, improving the economic, social and welfare environment, providing quality public services, ensuring a more efficient and better work process, as well as the implementation of all projects envisaged by the Development Program of the Royal Capital of Cetinje for 2024.

"For the first time since the implementation of the Law on the Royal Capital, since 2018, the capital budget has been implemented in almost one hundred percent. The work of the city administration and all bodies responsible for the implementation of the capital budget is evidenced by the fact that we are the only local government in Montenegro whose capital budget implementation is above 90 percent. One of the key indicators of the successful work of the city administration is the implementation of over 130 tender procedures, with the success rate of implementation being above 70 percent," Đurašković pointed out.

He adds that the most important infrastructure projects for the city were launched last year: the construction of the "Lokanda" hotel, the project to build a cable car from Lovćen to Cetinje, the construction of a new and reconstruction of the existing water supply network, and solving the problem of wastewater.

"Proud of everything we have achieved and aware of the challenges ahead, in the coming period we will continue to invest in Cetinje and realize important investments that generations of Cetinje men and women have dreamed of, which will significantly contribute to tourism valorization, economic development and the creation of new jobs. On this path, I promise that we will be guided, as before, by unconditional love for our city and Montenegro - a love that lasts, that shapes us and gives us the strength to build a future worthy of the heritage we have received and to work even more strongly and decisively for Cetinje," said Đurašković.

At today's session, the Assembly adopted, among other things, the Proposal for a Decision on the twinning of the Royal Capital of Cetinje and the city municipality of Košice-Staré Mesto, the Proposal for an amendment to the Program for the erection of memorials on the territory of the Royal Capital of Cetinje, the Proposal for a Program of Incentive Measures for the Development of Agriculture for 2025, the Work Report with the Financial Report of the Tourist Organization of the Royal Capital of Cetinje for 2024, the Work Report and Financial Report for 2024 of the Public Institution Cultural Center of the Royal Capital of Cetinje, the Work Report for 2024 of the Public Institution National Library and Reading Room "Njegoš" Cetinje.
