The Mayor of the Municipality of Nikšić, Marko Kovačević, signed contracts with representatives of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) whose projects will be financed by the local government this year. There are seven NGOs, and 50.000 euros will be allocated for their projects.
Kovačević said that he would try to be present during the implementation of projects for which he hopes that citizens will be satisfied with their implementation, that NGOs will gain additional experience. He congratulated the representatives of the NGO sector whose projects the Commission recognized as the best and promised that the local government will continue to be there to support all good projects that NGOs implement.
Duško Marković, a member of the Commission, congratulated the NGO representatives who were approved for project implementation and said that the Commission is here to answer any questions they may have. He pointed out that the local government will allocate more funds for NGO projects next year.
Miladin Goranović, on behalf of "Salt Lake Lovers", thanked them for recognizing their project as one of those that should be funded and promised to do everything to represent Salt Lake in the best possible way.
The non-governmental organizations "Lovers of the Salt Lake" will each receive 8.000 euros, which will implement the project "Salt Lake - Nature That Connects", "IDM Sport" for the futsal Cup Oslobodjenje Nikšić, which will be organized in September, and the Roma Youth Club "Trebjesa", for the project "Diversity Makes Us Unique".
The voluntary fire department "Brestice" from Trubjela will receive 6.800 euros for the project "For Trubjela, for our clean and healthy village", while the NGO "Cadenza" will receive 6.700 for the project "To Mr. Nikšić - Bogdanović, Marković".
For the project "Early intervention for better functionality of children with disabilities", which will be implemented by the NGO Association for Assistance to Persons with Psychophysical Developmental Disabilities, 6.500 euros will be allocated, while the Association of War Invalids will receive 6.000 euros for "Promotion of Nikšić for All of Us". The implementation time of the aforementioned projects is four to six months.
21 non-governmental organizations applied for the competition for the distribution of funds, four did not meet the criteria, so the Commission considered 17 projects. Since the start of implementation for some projects is in May, they will receive half of the planned funds immediately after signing the contract. During the implementation of the projects, the Commission will monitor them, and any possible changes must be reported in writing.
The Commission for the Distribution of Funds for Project Financing has determined agriculture and rural development, spatial planning of the city, sports, and promotion of the city on a broader scale as priority areas for this year.
