The Ministry of Health condemned the unprofessional and unethical attitude of Dr. Vladimir Peruničić towards journalist Magdalena Čelanović, stating that they expect the competent institutions to thoroughly investigate all the circumstances of the case and take further measures.

The Ministry of Health said that, in cooperation with the Administration of the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG), they will conduct an internal review of the case.

"Regarding allegations of inappropriate behavior by doctors, the Ministry of Health strongly condemns any form of unprofessional and unethical communication by healthcare workers, especially when directed at media representatives who are performing their work in the public interest," the Ministry said in a statement.

The government department said that they fully support the positions expressed by the Medical Chamber and the KCCG regarding this case.

The Ministry of Health specifically emphasized the importance of respecting professional and ethical standards at all times.

"We expect that the competent institutions will thoroughly investigate all the circumstances of the case and take further measures in accordance with their authorities," the Ministry said.

As they stated, the Ministry, in cooperation with the KCCG Administration, will conduct an internal review, while the public will be informed in a timely manner about all findings and possible sanctions.

"Although the incident occurred outside of working hours and outside the premises of the healthcare institution, expectations regarding professional and ethical behavior of healthcare workers apply at all times," the Ministry said.

They emphasized that any behavior that harms the reputation of the healthcare profession is unacceptable and highlighted the importance of consistently upholding professional and ethical standards, not only during working hours, but also in public and digital spaces outside of official duties.

"We call on all healthcare workers to demonstrate a high level of responsibility, dignity and professionalism in their behavior and relationship with citizens, including media representatives, in order to preserve public trust in the healthcare system," the statement said.

It is emphasized that healthcare workers must be an example of responsibility, ethics, and respect for every citizen, without exception.

"The Ministry of Health remains committed to the principles of open communication, transparency and accountability," the statement said.

The Ministry said that the protection of the rights of every citizen, including media representatives, is inviolable and added that there is no place for tolerating threats or intimidation, as well as unethical communication in the Montenegrin healthcare system.
