On May 8, Šavnik will mark three significant anniversaries - 80 years since liberation, Victory Day over Fascism and Europe Day. The ceremony, which, as announced by the Municipality, will celebrate the past with pride, the present with dignity and the future with courage, begins at 19 p.m. in the Cultural Center hall.
"These 80 years are not just a number - they are a symbol of perseverance, a spirit of freedom and the obligation to preserve anti-fascism as the foundation of our identity. Šavnik proudly stands shoulder to shoulder with all the cities of Europe that celebrate freedom," said the host of the ceremony, the president of the Municipality of Šavnik, Jugoslav Jakić.
The ceremony will be greeted by top local officials and representatives of SUBNOR, and the program, which "pays tribute to the fighters against fascism and reaffirms the values that still stand as the foundation of European and civil society today," will also feature the renowned KIC POP choir, whose concert in Šavnik will be their 130th in their eight-year career.
"On this occasion, Šavnik sends a strong message - that even the smallest municipality is a guardian of values, which are still very relevant today. This ceremony is not just a memory - it is a pledge of the ongoing struggle for freedom, dignity and the European path," said the Municipality of Šavnik.
