The capital has allocated land to the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation for the construction of two kindergartens in Podgorica.
They said that the goal is to expand the capacity of preschool education and improve the living conditions of the youngest.
The contract allocating land for the construction of kindergartens at the Old Airport and in Murtovina was signed today by Podgorica Mayor Saša Mujović and Minister Anđela Jakšić Stojanović. The capital announced that this confirmed the strong cooperation between local and state administrations in creating better quality and more accessible education for all children.
Mujović emphasized that this is an important step aimed at responding to the growing need for preschool institutions in Podgorica, and that these facilities will significantly increase capacity and relieve the burden on existing kindergartens in these areas.
"As mayor, I would like to emphasize that we will take into account all categories of citizens and all ages. Today we are talking about youth, about the future, and we are handing over land to the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation for the construction of two new kindergartens in the settlements of Stari Aerodrom and Murtovina. These two facilities represent a truly strong confirmation that we are fulfilling our election promises, and also that we want the balanced development of the city," said Mujović.
He added that these institutions, whose construction will "begin very soon", are not only educational and educational in nature, but also facilities that will help "in a certain way to get rid of traffic jams and reduce population migration from one part of the city to another."
Mujović, as announced, expressed particular satisfaction that the Capital City is signing this contract with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, emphasizing the "exceptional agility" of Minister Jakšić Stojanović and her desire to strongly contribute to the development of education in Podgorica.
"I believe that we will meet again soon, because the Capital has also selected new locations for the construction of schools and kindergartens. Work on the construction of a school in the City Quarter is expected to begin soon, and I believe that we will make strong strides in this area. We are doing everything for the benefit of our youth and so that Podgorica has sufficient educational and upbringing capacities," said Mujović.
Minister Anđela Jakšić Stojanović expressed great satisfaction with the signing of the contract on the transfer of land for the construction of new kindergartens, which, as she said, represents another important step in cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Science and the Capital City.
"Podgorica is one of the cities that is facing a major problem when it comes to educational infrastructure and the capacities at our disposal. In the previous period, we opened a new facility for the 'Vladimir Nazor' elementary school, the reconstruction of the 'Radojica Perović' elementary school was also completed, and new premises for the 'Štampar Makarije' elementary school were also provided. In addition, conditions have been created to begin, I hope by the end of the summer, the construction of a new pavilion for the 'Oktoih' elementary school, to announce a tender for the selection of contractors for the kindergarten and school in the City Quarter in July, and to soon initiate procedures for the selection of designers and contractors for the annex of the 'Vlado Milić' school in Donja Gorica. I would like to note that the design of the conceptual design for the reconstruction and upgrade of the kindergarten in Zabjelo is underway, for which we expect the works to also begin by the end of the year. We are pleased with the fact that in the coming period we will have intensified cooperation with the Capital and that we will sign contracts for the transfer of new land for the construction of school facilities and kindergartens throughout Podgorica," said the minister, adding that this primarily concerns Zabjelo, where the construction of a new school is planned, as well as the construction of a new kindergarten, but also the construction of a new school at the Old Airport, as well as a kindergarten in Block 35-36.
"Certainly, cooperation with the Capital City has begun in an exceptional way and I am sure that in the coming period we will have many beautiful activities that we will all be proud of and that we will leave a big mark when it comes to the development of educational infrastructure in the Capital City," said Jakšić Stojanović.
