Frequent reports of alleged bombs being planted are directed at schools where external high school exams are being held, in order to postpone classes, the Police Directorate announced, appealing for the support of parents in order to preserve the safety of children and teachers and ensure a smooth end to the school year.
Several schools in Podgorica and Nikšić were evacuated this morning due to reports of explosive devices being placed.
The Police Directorate, in response to frequent reports of improvised explosive devices placed in schools, which, as they said, were determined to be false, appealed for parents' support and cooperation in order to preserve the safety of children and teachers and ensure a smooth end to the school year.
As they pointed out, the Police Directorate regularly assesses risk in cooperation with schools, security services, and police officers.
"The constant presence of the police and diversionary checks contribute to maximum safety for everyone staying in school buildings," the statement said.
The police said that, based on previous experience, it is evident that frequent reports are directed at schools where external high school exams or similar knowledge tests are taken, with the aim of postponing classes.
"Our common goal is to resolve such situations quickly, with minimal impact on the teaching process and students' sense of safety," the police added.
They urged parents to talk to their children about the seriousness of such behavior, since in the previous period the perpetrators of these acts were minors.
"And to pay attention to their activity in cyberspace, since their role in this segment is of exceptional importance," the statement said.
The Police Directorate announced that the High-Tech Crime Group, in cooperation with the prosecutor's office, is taking all measures aimed at identifying and prosecuting those responsible.
"By working together, we can prevent abuse and ensure a safe school environment," the statement concludes.
