The Municipality of Tivat, in cooperation with the "Municipalities for the EU" initiative, marked Europe Day by organizing an ecological clean-up campaign in Pržna Bay (Blue Horizon) in Krtoli.

The action, which was held with the support of the Tivat Municipal Company, brought together local government employees, locals and members of the Voluntary Fire Department "Krtoli" from Radovići with the aim of actively contributing to the cleanliness of this site, which is one of the protected natural assets in the territory of the Tivat municipality.

As a sign of support, representatives of the European Union Delegation to Montenegro also attended the event.

"This year, the European Union is organizing a series of events across Montenegro, from the mountains to the coast, and today we are on the coast to mark the protection of your environment, which is very important for the country and its citizens. The EU marks May 9th as Europe Day, while this year marks the 75th anniversary of the signing of the Schuman Declaration, which also marked the end of World War II in Europe. We should remember that Europe can progress if we have unity and peace, and that is a message that should be sent every year. Different events will be organized in different municipalities. We want to involve local communities and for people to mark this day together with us. Thank you very much, we are very glad to be here today," said Ana Mariguesa Lorentzen, manager at the EU Delegation in Podgorica, to the participants of the action in Pržna.

Secretary of the Secretariat for Spatial Planning of the Municipality of Tivat Milica Manojlović emphasized the importance of connecting the local community with European initiatives, emphasizing that such activities contribute to the sustainable development of the municipality.

"One of the central activities was held today, which is the cleaning of the Plavi Horizont beach, or the harmful paths in the hinterland of the beach. It is certainly one of the most beautiful beaches that is very frequently visited. We believe that this initiative will make the path more beautiful and provide additional comfort to visitors to this location. The beach and the promenade in the hinterland are a protected natural asset, or a natural monument, so we believe that the choice of location was the best possible. The Municipality of Tivat has opted for sustainable management in its strategic documents, so activities related to environmental protection, sustainable beach management, as well as reducing the amount of waste, especially on the coast, are the strategic goals of the Municipality," said Manojlović, adding that the local administration of Tivat "is trying to connect the local community, local self-government and European initiatives and organizations."
