The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MESI) has appealed to the competent institutions to find and prosecute those responsible for sending false bomb threats as soon as possible, so that the teaching process in educational institutions can proceed smoothly.

The Ministry of National Education and Science told MINA that the administrations of six high schools informed them that threatening emails had been sent to school email addresses this morning.

As stated by the department, threatening emails were reported by four schools in Nikšić - Gymnasium "Stojan Cerović", Secondary School of Economics and Catering, Secondary Vocational School and First Secondary Vocational School, as well as two in Podgorica - Secondary Medical School and Secondary Electrical Engineering School "Vaso Aligrudić".

The Ministry said that the administrations of these educational institutions notified law enforcement agencies, and that students and teachers were evacuated while specialized police units inspected the premises in the institutions.

"After law enforcement notified school administrations that the premises were safe, students and teachers returned to the classrooms and the curriculum resumed," the ministry said.

They reminded that this is not the first time that there have been false bomb threats.

"We appeal to the competent services and institutions to determine as soon as possible who are the perpetrators of these unfortunate events and prosecute them, so that the teaching process in our educational institutions can proceed without disruption," the Ministry of Education and Science said.

The department said that it remains committed to the safety of students and teachers and will continue to cooperate with relevant institutions to maintain safety in schools.
