Europe Day reminds us of the fundamental principles on which modern Europe is based - solidarity, cooperation, freedom of movement, exchange of ideas and knowledge, said the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović.
On the occasion of May 9th - Europe Day, he spoke with young people who were participants in the Erasmus program as students.
Milatović emphasized that the Erasmus program is an exceptional opportunity for connecting young people, acquiring new knowledge and valuable experiences.
He added that Erasmus, in addition to being an educational program, represents a symbol of a united Europe - a Europe without borders, based on common values, solidarity and mutual understanding.

In this regard, as announced by the President's Office, Milatović emphasized that such programs play an important role in "strengthening European values among young people", encouraging them to think openly, to cooperate and to actively contribute to building a common European future.
He recalled that he himself had the privilege of being part of the Erasmus program, adding that the experience played an important role in his professional and personal development.
Milatović also said that education is the foundation of every society that strives for progress and success, and that young people are the most valuable resource of our country. He emphasized that their education and active social engagement are key to building a more prosperous future for Montenegro.

In this context, he called on young people to continue their education, to be socially engaged and thus actively contribute to the development of their communities. He added that it is important for them to be aware of the responsibility they bear, but also to recognize the opportunities offered to them, because "it is through these processes that they shape their future, the future of Montenegro and Europe as a whole."
During the conversation, opinions were exchanged on the challenges that young people in Montenegro face today, as well as on the possibilities for improving the education system and creating a better socio-economic environment.
Milatović expressed his belief that young people, empowered by the knowledge and experience gained through programs such as Erasmus, will play an increasingly active role in the development of Montenegrin society, and that their actions will contribute to strengthening democratic values in our country, the statement reads.
