Ersan Spahić has been removed from his position as director of the "Vaso Aligrudić" Electrical Engineering School, "Vijesti" has learned.
According to the same information, Marija Babović, a professor of Montenegrin-Serbian, Bosnian and Croatian language and literature (CSBH) who works at that school, has been appointed as acting head.
"Vijesti" sources claim that Spahić was dismissed, among other things, because he does not have a license to work in an educational institution.
They remind that in recent years, the Education Inspectorate has repeatedly proposed his dismissal, but that the School Board, whose jurisdiction it was until September last year, did not accept those proposals.
Spahić, however, claims in a statement to "Vijesti" that the Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, Anđela Jakšić-Stojanović, unfairly dismissed him.
"Namely, today I was dismissed from the position of director of the Electrical Engineering School 'Vaso Aligrudić', which is based on the findings of the educational inspector Ivan Zindović. The dismissal states that during the inspection, the existence of a valid license to work in educational institutions was not determined. However, I would like to emphasize that I completed all the necessary seminars for the renewal of the license before its formal expiration, and that I did not neglect my professional obligations," said Spahić.
The license, he emphasizes, "was just not picked up on time from the Department of Education, which I was not informed about in a timely manner."
"Also, the training for directors, which the inspector also mentions, has not yet been completed, but according to the law it can be completed by the end of the mandate, and my mandate lasts until 2026. From all of the above, I believe that there was neither professional negligence nor a conscious violation of regulations, but a misunderstanding that can be clarified and corrected," said Spahić.
