On the occasion of Bosniak National Flag Day, the flag of the Bosniak people was raised on the building of the Municipality of Pljevlja today, by decision of the Mayor of the Municipality, Dario Vraneš.
Bosniak National Flag Day is celebrated on May 11, in accordance with the decision of the Bosniak National Council in Montenegro, and represents one of the most important holidays of the Bosniak people.
Vranes said that Bosniaks, as a constituent people in Montenegro, have the right to celebrate their holidays and that their symbols be respected in accordance with the Constitution.
"Bosniaks are marking an important date today and all of us who live in Pljevlja and Montenegro must respect national symbols. Diversity and respect for diversity are our greatest assets. Together we are fighting for a better life in Pljevlja and only through unity can we and must fight for a better Pljevlja," said Vraneš.
He emphasized that he is the president of all citizens of Pljevlja and that the Constitution obliges him to respect the rights of every citizen.
"The time of division is over and I am sure that all citizens in Pljevlja will live equally. I congratulate all Bosniaks in Pljevlja and Montenegro on this holiday," said Vranes.
The Bosniak national flag on the Pljevlja Municipality building was flown for the first time for one day on May 11, 2023, after Vranes took over as head of the local administration.
