The Mayor of Podgorica, Prof. Dr. Saša Mujović, with his associates, visited the village of Ubli in Kuči today, where work on the renovation of the Local Community building, within which a new children's playground and sports field were built, was recently completed, the Capital announced.
Mujović, as stated in the statement, said that the city administration is working dedicatedly to develop all parts of the city, and that suburban settlements represent a great development opportunity for Podgorica, and that he is very satisfied with the work carried out and that he is pleased with the number of locals present, especially children, because it shows that this area is alive.
"The new city administration, headed by me, has been governing Podgorica for only five months, and I must express my immense satisfaction that during that time, among other things, we have started and completed a project like this - a project that has brought smiles to the faces of the youngest, but also infrastructure that, I am sure, will contribute to people staying in the countryside. And while many only talk about the importance of developing rural areas, we are specifically contributing to this with an investment of around 65.000 euros in facilities whose construction took three months, and which also included the adaptation of the Youth Center," said the mayor.
The Secretary of the Secretariat for Local Self-Government and Cooperation with Civil Society, Slađana Anđušić, emphasized that the activities of the Capital City in the past period were also focused on the rehabilitation of local community facilities, which are a very important point of connection with citizens and a place that should bring citizens together to solve their problems, but also to further improve communication with the local administration, which, unfortunately, was not the case before, the Capital City statement added.
"The renovation of this space is very important, because in the previous period, it was difficult to even approach this facility. We know that there is a school nearby, which means that children from this area have also received a new space to play and socialize. This is just one part of the work we have planned in Ubli and we will continue with the renovation of the premises. In July, we will have a Public Call for the Manager of the Youth Club, and the continuation of activities regarding the renovation of the Local Community Center," she added.
The Capital City reminded that the adaptation of the facility in the "Ubli" MZ included the creation of a new thermal insulation facade, waterproofing, new sidewalks around the entire facility, replacement of facade hardware, air conditioning of the hall and offices, arrangement of the stage, basement rooms, necessary sheet metal work, and painting. When it comes to the sports field and playground, the work was carried out by the companies Zelenilo, Komunalni usluge, Putevi and the Housing Agency, the statement concludes.
