Electronic enrollment of children in public and private preschool institutions for the 2025/26 school year begins on Friday and will last until June 15, the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation (MESI) announced.
The Ministry of Education and Science said that this applies to children who are enrolling in the institution for the first time, or who were discharged from kindergarten during the previous school year.
"Children who attended preschool education programs the previous year will only sign a contract with the kindergarten administration, the date for which will be announced later," the statement said.
The Ministry said that electronic enrollment in preschool institutions is carried out through the portal www.upisi.edu.me, which makes the enrollment procedure much easier for parents and guardians.
"The procedure only requires entering the child's personal identification number, which pulls other necessary data from the database, such as a birth certificate, confirmation from social work centers, and other documents," the statement said.
The portal will be available from Friday until June 15, 24 hours a day.
As stated by the Ministry of Education, if a parent or guardian is not able to enroll a child electronically, there is certainly the possibility of enrolling by registering on the premises of the preschool institution.
"The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology continues to work to raise awareness about the importance of preschool education and to strive for the goal of increasing the coverage of children with preschool education," the ministry said.
