During the voluntary blood donation campaign, organized on Sunday by the Red Cross (RC) Kolašin and the Blood Transfusion Institute, around 100 units of the precious fluid were collected.
This action, which has been held twice a year for 15 years, once again, according to the Central Committee, confirmed the unwavering humanity of the citizens of Kolašin.
In addition to donating blood, the Red Cross had another important task this time.
In cooperation with the non-governmental organization (NGO) "Čojstvo" from Berane, a humanitarian initiative was launched to build a new home for the six-member Šišović family from Gornja Morača.
Through a series of activities and events, the organizers raised significant funds to help that family.
"We are proud of the support provided to us by numerous fellow citizens, friends of Kolašin, as well as companies that were happy to get involved. Among them, we especially highlight Milivoj Pašić and his friends, who regularly participate in all actions of the Kolašin Central Committee, although they are bound to our city exclusively by friendly ties," said Đorđije Baković from the Central Committee.
The Mayor of the Municipality of Kolašin, Petko Bakić, employees of the Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS), as well as long-time blood donors from the Rondović family, also contributed to the campaign.
The organizers extended special thanks to Buducnost football player Ivan Bulatović, who, as they say, "fully supported the action and set an example for all the people of Kolašin on how to respond when needed most."
As in previous campaigns, great support was provided by the "Braća Selić" High School, whose management, led by director Ana Golubović, lent the school premises for the organization's needs.
"Without the dedication and dedicated work of our volunteers, these results would not be possible. Their efforts push the boundaries of what is possible every day," said the Red Cross Kolašin.
