The management of the Mixed High School "Mladost" from Tivat received a threatening email this morning stating that a group of armed individuals will allegedly invade this and other schools in Montenegro.
The school management informed the members of the Parents' Council about the threat received, and the Ministry of Education was also informed.
"The ministry's instruction is that the school continue to operate, that the doors be locked and that the school be secured by the police," reads a message sent to members of the Parents' Council, which they then forwarded to the parents of all students. This has sparked reactions from citizens whose children attend the afternoon shift, who fear for their safety and will not send their children to school at all.
Outraged and concerned parents said that if the Police Department and the Ministry of Education are unable to ensure a safe environment for their children at school, the school administration should conduct online, rather than traditional, classes until the end of the school year.
Due to multiple threats to the safety of students and teachers, or reports of allegedly planted explosive devices received in the past month, classes at the "Mladost" Secondary School in Tivat have been interrupted or disrupted on several occasions, which has parents worried and nervous because the Montenegrin police are apparently unable to discover who is constantly sending security threats to the school via electronic means of communication.
