The Ministry of Defense will continue to improve the conditions of military service, to make this calling attractive to new generations, said the relevant Minister Dragan Krapović.
As announced by the Ministry of Defense, contract soldiers and soldiers on voluntary military service took the oath today at the "Milovan Šaranović" barracks in Danilovgrad.
Krapović said that taking the oath is an act of deep moral and patriotic significance, which assumes responsibility for preserving the independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Montenegro.
He emphasized that the young soldiers, by choosing military service, have shown a strong commitment to the common good, tradition and values of Montenegrin society.
Krapović told the soldiers that they had chosen a calling that was not easy, but one of the most honorable, and that in the army they would learn to trust each other, to work as a team, and to build the foundations for professional and personal development.
"The uniform you wear obliges you to hold your homeland sacred, and I am confident that you will wear it with dignity and pride," said Krapović.
He added that the Ministry of Defense will continue to improve service conditions to make a military career attractive to new generations.
"I have no doubt that it will be so, and it is primarily because of you, dear parents and family members, who have taught these young people to be responsible, to value the community and to be ready to serve their country," said Krapović.
Chief of Staff of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Montenegro (AFM), Mitar Klikovac, congratulated the soldiers on taking the oath and called on them to be a role model for future generations with their work, knowledge and discipline.
"The Armed Forces of Montenegro counts on your strength, enthusiasm and responsibility. The success of every military unit rests on the dedication of every individual. Your contribution will be crucial for the continued development of a modern and professional army," said Klikovac.
The statement states that a new generation of contract soldiers and volunteers are attending basic military training under the watchful eye of the Training Center instructors, during which they acquire their first military skills.
"After three months, those contract soldiers who meet the criteria will continue their careers and further training in the units of the Armed Forces of Montenegro," the statement said.
