The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation has issued a license amendment to the University of Montenegro, Faculty of Science and Mathematics in Podgorica, approving the implementation of teaching in the basic academic study program Chemistry, for a duration of three years (180 ECTS credits). The license applies to the enrollment of up to 20 students per year.
"The need for this program has been confirmed by analyses of labor market needs, so the education system has been facing a shortage of chemistry professors for years," the Ministry says.
The program provides theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for work in primary and secondary schools (as chemistry teachers), but also for engagement in research laboratories and laboratories for quality control and environmental pollutants, as well as in state administration.
"The program's goals include the development of research projects and cooperation with the national and international scientific community, while teaching will be organized according to high quality standards, with regular internal and external evaluations. Learning outcomes are adapted to the needs of the labor market, enabling students to apply the acquired knowledge in practice," the statement reads.
