The Seismology Sector of the Institute of Hydrometeorology and Seismology registered a minor earthquake last night, at 51 minutes after midnight, with an epicenter two kilometers southwest of Čilipi in Croatia, near Dubrovnik.
The earthquake's magnitude at the epicenter was 3,5 on the Richter scale, which corresponds to an epicentral intensity of V on the Mercalli scale.
According to preliminary processing data, the earthquake's epicenter was located at a depth of six kilometers.
"Based on the theoretical model of the macroseismic field of this region, the magnitude of the earthquake and the depth of the hypocenter, this earthquake could not cause material damage in the epicentral area," the announcement reads.
