The diaspora is an integral part of Montenegrin society and one of the key pillars of the overall development of the country, said Minister of Diaspora Mirsad Azemović.
Azemović is on a working visit to Turkey, during which he attended events dedicated to the diaspora of Montenegrin origin in the cities of Ayvalik and Burhaniya.
These events, as announced by the Ministry of Diaspora, brought together a large number of emigrants, where, among other things, they discussed strengthening ties between the home country and the diaspora, as well as exchanging opinions on directions for future cooperation.
Azemović emphasized that the Government of Montenegro remains committed to strengthening institutional cooperation with the diaspora.
"The diaspora is an integral part of our society and one of the key pillars of the overall development of our country. Our people in the diaspora are our best ambassadors and make a huge contribution to Montenegro's reputation abroad and deserve full respect and support," said Azemović.
He said that his visit to Turkey is also an opportunity to invite successful businessmen from that country, especially those of Montenegrin origin, to invest their capital in Montenegro, noting that the Government is ready to provide support to all potential investors.
During his stay in Turkey, Azemović held meetings with representatives of expatriate associations, where they discussed possibilities for concrete cooperation in the fields of culture and education, as well as the project of launching an online Montenegrin language course.
"This visit is part of a broader plan of activities of the Ministry of Diaspora aimed at strengthening relations with the diaspora and its more active inclusion in the development processes of Montenegro," the statement said.
