The Capital City Inspection Department immediately reacted to a citizen's report regarding the illegal felling of a tree on Beogradska Street and took all measures within its jurisdiction, providing full support to citizens and their demands to stop further devastation of the area, the local government announced.
They said that the position of Mayor Saša Mujović and the city administration is clear, and said that they stand with the citizens and are against the construction of the controversial facility.
"A concrete and decisive reaction from state authorities is expected - primarily the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property, as well as the competent environmental inspection - in order to prevent further destruction of space and construction at this location. The capital once again confirms its commitment to protecting the public interest, preserving green areas and planned construction, and its readiness, in partnership with citizens, to react decisively to any attempt to devastate the space," the statement reads.
