A conference marking the launch of the national campaign "Take care, let it take care of you" will be held tomorrow, on World Environment Day, in Podgorica.
As announced by the European House, the campaign was developed with the support of the European Union (EU) and will be implemented by a broad coalition of key state and local institutions, partners from the academic community and civil society, socially responsible companies and the media.
"The goal of the campaign is to improve environmental protection through a series of concrete measures and ecological actions, but also to encourage citizens to make a personal contribution to a healthier and cleaner living environment," the statement said.
The conference will, as announced, be opened at Sastavci (Skaline) by the EU Ambassador to Montenegro Johan Sattler and the Prime Minister Milojko Spajić.
The introductory part will also feature a video message from the captain of the Montenegrin national football team, Stevan Jovetić, who will speak about the personal connection with nature and the importance of individual responsibility in environmental protection.
The European House said that three panels are planned for the continuation of the conference, which will bring together representatives of state institutions, local self-government, the judiciary, education, business, the non-governmental sector, and the media.
"The panel discussion will address key topics such as interdepartmental cooperation in nature protection, the fight against unpunished pollution, and the role of the media as an ally in environmental protection," the statement said.
It is emphasized that special attention will be paid to children, through the symbolic presentation "Archaeology of Waste", which will show layers of buried waste as the "heritage" of modern society, with the aim of encouraging the youngest to think about the consequences of today's environmental choices.
