This year's Diaspora Days, in accordance with the new celebration concept, will be held in six Montenegrin municipalities, the Ministry of Diaspora announced.
It is stated that Diaspora Days will be organized in Gusinje, Plav, Berane, Petnjica, Rožaje and Ulcinj.
As announced by the Ministry of Diaspora, the relevant Minister Mirsad Azemović and the Mayor of the Municipality of Rožaje Rahman Husović signed an Agreement on the organization of the Diaspora Days event in that city.
"A new concept for celebrating Diaspora Days is starting this year, and in addition to Rožaje, Diaspora Days will also be organized in municipalities that have expressed interest in organizing this event in communication with the Ministry of Diaspora," the statement says.
During his working visit to Rožaje, Azemović emphasized the importance of such initiatives in strengthening ties between the homeland and the diaspora and thanked the local government for its openness and willingness to host an event of particular importance for citizens living and working abroad.
"Rožaje has a strong diaspora that makes a great contribution to the development of Montenegro. Diaspora Days will be an opportunity for these people to further connect with their region, but also to jointly strengthen contacts, exchange ideas and encourage cooperation," said Azemović.
Husović said that he was satisfied with the signed agreement and emphasized that the event will have great cultural, social and economic significance for the local community.
As stated in a statement by the Ministry of Diaspora, the organization of Diaspora Days is planned for the second half of July and the beginning of August.
