Construction in the Budva settlement of Dubovica Lux is proceeding at a rapid pace, despite the fact that a construction ban has come into effect for that part of the city.
Residents of the surrounding buildings provided "Vijesti" with footage showing heavy construction work digging up part of the hill, claiming that it is a plot of land on which a residential building is being built. The work, they say, begins early in the morning and lasts all day, creating unbearable noise and spreading dust everywhere.
The Municipal Inspection and Municipal Police told "Vijesti" that, regarding construction work at the location in question, a public road and parking lot are being built, and the works are being extended due to public interest.
"Regarding construction work on the facility, the municipal inspector is conducting administrative proceedings to suspend it," the municipal service said.
By the Municipal Decision on Communal Order, the ban on construction work during the summer tourist season in the first and exclusive zones came into effect on May 15th, in the second zone on June 1st, and from June 15th, construction work will be prohibited in the entire area of the Budva municipality.
In the past 20 days, the municipal police have issued several fines to investors who ignored the ban on work.
