Local self-government reform is essential for democratic processes, especially from the aspect of the electoral system, decentralization and digitalization, said Minister of Public Administration Maraš Dukaj during a working visit to the Municipality of Danilovgrad.
As announced by the Ministry of Public Administration (MPA), at a meeting with the President of the Municipality of Danilovgrad, Aleksandar Grgurović, and his associates, Dukaj shared the MPA's vision of empowered local governments, ready to take decision-making about their own destiny into their own hands.
Dukaj told the representatives of the municipal leadership that he and the Ministry he heads are available for any type of support, but also as a bridge to strengthen cooperation with other ministries.
"Local self-government reform is essential for democratic processes, especially from the aspect of the electoral system, decentralization and digitalization," Dukaj emphasized.
These are, according to him, areas that will contribute to improving the general social environment and living conditions of the citizens of Montenegro.
Grgurović, as announced, informed the MPA representatives about the significant strides that the current city government has made in the field of local self-government, especially in terms of revitalizing local community institutions and the excellent cooperation that the Municipality has with them, the digitalization of certain processes and transparency in its work.
He said that in the Municipality of Danilovgrad, on the path of strengthening local self-governments, the MPA will always have a reliable partner, ready for cooperation.
The MPA said that Dukaj visited the Danilovgrad Art Colony, where he had the opportunity to learn about the history of the institution of special cultural importance for Montenegro and see the exhibition entitled "7".
"We continue to work continuously to deepen cooperation and resolve challenges that burden the work of local governments," said Dukaj.
