The capital city announced that it is preparing for the second phase of traffic intersection modernization, announcing that "one of the world's leading experts in the field of adaptive intersection management", Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Stevanović, will arrive in Podgorica in the fall, to support the capital city team in the implementation of this project.
They said that Professor Stevanović's engagement is being realized through "the prestigious Fulbright Specialist Program, which enables the engagement of prominent American experts in projects of strategic importance around the world."
"We want to apply the best world practice in Podgorica and it will be our special pleasure to, together with Professor Stevanović, do everything we can to make Podgorica a true example of smart governance within the European framework," emphasized the Mayor of Podgorica, Saša Mujović.
Professor Stevanović comes from the University of Pittsburgh in the United States, where he teaches at the Department of Transportation Engineering.
"He has more than two decades of experience in developing and implementing adaptive traffic systems that use algorithms, sensors, and artificial intelligence to adapt signaling in real time to actual conditions on the ground," the statement reads.
