In order for tourists to be completely safe during their summer vacation in the Montenegrin capital of tourism, and to receive complete health care in a timely manner, four tourist outpatient clinics are in operation in the Budva municipality this season, which will be open until mid-September.
This was told to "Vijesti" by the director of the Public Health Institution (PHI) Budva Health Center. Blazo Radoman.
He stated that Budva is the first Montenegrin municipality, and the Budva Health Center is unique in Montenegro for this type of health service that is successfully implemented in cooperation with the Municipality, which allocates money from the budget so that the Budva Riviera can be competitive with other tourist destinations in this segment.
Radoman pointed out that their previous experiences in tourist clinics have shown that quality healthcare is extremely important to tourists when deciding where to spend their vacation.
"Budva is a coastal municipality with the highest number of overnight stays and almost 50 percent of the country's tourism turnover, and the Municipality is aware that providing quality and timely healthcare is one aspect of the tourism offer," emphasized Radoman.
According to him, tourist clinics in Budva and Rafailovići have been operational since yesterday, and about ten days earlier, clinics in Petrovac and Pržno (Sveti Stefan) began operating.
"All tourist clinics are in the same locations, except for the tourist clinic in Budva, which, due to the work being carried out on the reconstruction of the Health Center building, will be in the department of the selected doctor for adults," said Radoman.
He emphasizes that the entire work of the tourist clinics is organized by their own staff based on additional work contracts, as permitted by law.
"There has never been a problem organizing work, because we have excellent cooperation with health centers in neighboring municipalities, whose doctors and medical staff are available and would be engaged if needed," said Radoman.
In order to organize the work of tourist clinics, he added, it is necessary to conclude a contract required by the Law on Health Care.
"The work of tourist clinics is financed by the local government, which is why at the end of each fiscal year we address the Municipality with a request to plan budget funds for health care, as they did for this year, which is the amount of 200 thousand euros. This amount is allocated for the work of clinics, but also for providing professional staff, the arrival of certain specialists, in order to provide a wider range of services," emphasized Radoman.
Emphasizing that the Municipality has so far invested significant funds in the Health Center and provided donations, Radoman recalled that it donated two vehicles this year, that they previously participated in the reconstruction and adaptation of the pediatric department, selected doctors for adults, and that the tender procedure has just been completed and that the long-awaited digital mammogram will be delivered in the next 30 days.
He stated that the Health Center also has a very professional and correct relationship with the Ministry of Health.
"The fact that the intensive reconstruction of the entire first floor of the Health Center building is underway, a project worth 1,2 million euros financed by the Ministry of Health through the Capital Projects Administration, speaks of the very successful cooperation we have with this government department. It is a 1.200 square meter space. The reconstruction is being carried out in accordance with the new Law on Health Care, which will expand the range of services provided at the primary level. We are planning six specialist offices in particular, which will be on the first floor. The department of selected doctors for women, or gynecology, will be reconstructed. There will be a modern center for mental health, as well as occupational medicine, and new premises will also be for radiology, as mammograms will be delivered. We also have to follow modern trends in terms of space, because this is a facility that was built after the catastrophic earthquake in 1979. These are the first serious investments, after what was previously done on the ground floor," emphasized Radoman, adding that two more projects, for which complete documentation has been prepared when it comes to the continuation of the modernization of the Budva Health Center, he applied to the Ministry of Health, and that he expects a positive outcome.
