The traffic ban project in Perast, initiated by the Municipality of Kotor, has been successfully implemented, the Perast Local Community announced today.
"At the very beginning, there were certain difficulties, as the new system of ramps for automatic license plate reading was being tested. Unscrupulous drivers were breaking the ramp and parking in illegal places, which disrupted its operation. However, thanks to the joint efforts of all relevant institutions, these challenges were successfully overcome," the statement said.
The Perast Local Community added that meetings were held in April with representatives of the Municipality of Kotor and the Tourist Organization, during which key negotiations were held on the implementation of the project.
"The Deputy Mayor of the Municipality, Dr. Igor Kumburović, was pleased to express his willingness to help the Perast Local Community and do everything to ensure that our requests are met - which has been fully achieved. Thanks to this cooperation, a long-standing problem that had been tarnishing the image of our town has been resolved. We are grateful to the Municipality of Kotor, and especially to the Deputy Mayor, Dr. Igor Kumburović, who recognized the importance of this initiative, initiated its implementation and provided full support throughout the entire process. In cooperation with the Municipal Police, he also enabled the daily presence of a municipal police officer in Perast, which further improved the functioning of the new system," said the Perast Local Community.
They expressed their hope for "continued successful cooperation, with the belief that through joint efforts we will continue to build Perast as an example of a well-groomed, hospitable and authentic Mediterranean town, worthy of its rich heritage."
