Danilović: If the Government only found out today that FCJK was accredited, how did they give it money from the budget beforehand?

The President of United Montenegro, Goran Danilović, asked how it was possible that the Government only found out later today that the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature was accredited and how it had previously given it money from the budget if it did not know that.

We remind you that at tonight's electronic session of the Government of Montenegro, members again expressed their views on the Decision on the enrollment of freshmen at the state expense at FCJK in Cetinje for the academic year 2025/2026, and after the Government announced that they had received information from the Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, Anđela Jakšić-Stojanović, that the Agency for Control and Quality Assurance of Higher Education (AKOKVO), headed by Goran Danilović, reaccredited FCJK on April 29, 2024.

As announced by the Government, Jakšić Stojanović was absent from the session that was held earlier, at which the decision on the enrollment of freshmen at the FCJK at state expense was not adopted.

"So, since the Government reappointed me to the position of director of AKOKVO today, by force of law and based on the ruling of the Administrative Court, I immediately became 'guilty'. Namely, it so happens that the Government did not know that FCJK was reaccredited last year in April, (with an unprecedented campaign in favor of that Faculty, by the Minister and the Ministry) so the Minister of Education only obtained that information about the reaccreditation today," Danilović said with a laugh in a post on the social network Facebook.

He was reinstated as head of AKOKVO today, thus upholding the merits of the Administrative Court's decision to dismiss Danilović from January of this year.

Danilović asked the ministry how the generation of freshmen enrolled at FCJK last year and how they gave them money last year.

"How did you allocate budget funds for them for this year? How and on what basis did your Ministry of Finance approve 700 thousand euros for freshmen? Is it possible that the Ministry of Education is only informing the Government about this fact today, while the Ministry of Finance has known about it for more than a year? Is it possible that the Government does not know that it gave money from the budget for FCJK and thinks that it is not reaccredited? Is that now a reason to repeat the vote? So, gentlemen, don't go after me. I think enough is enough," said Danilović.

The United leader said that he did not expect an apology for his illegal dismissal, but that it would be beneficial for the Agency to leave him alone.

"Learn, or don't lie, that the director of the Agency accredits and reaccredits. The director signs the decision, and the accreditation or reaccreditation committees lead and conclude the process with a proposal that can be positive or negative. We are well and alive as far as you understand higher education," he concluded.
