The former mayor of Budva Municipality, Marko Bato Carević, submitted incomplete and inaccurate data in his annual report on income and assets for 2019, and did not report that he was a XNUMX% owner of the company "Carinvest RS" from Novi Sad, Serbia.
This means that Carević violated the Law on the Prevention of Corruption because he did not report ownership in that company, founded by his company "Carinvest" in Kotor, states the decision of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK).
"In order to determine the facts and circumstances necessary for making a correct and lawful decision, the Agency conducted the procedure and presented evidence and inspected the database of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, the report on income and assets of public official Marko Carević for 2019 No. 02-04-4/4230 dated 30.03.2020, the database of the Central Register of Business Entities of Montenegro (CRPS), the database of the Central Register of Business Entities of the Republic of Serbia, the decision on the establishment of the company "Carinvest RS" dated 04.06.2019," the ASK decision states.
Carević, as stated in the document, did not respond within the legally prescribed deadline.
They announced that after evaluating the presented evidence and the entire case file, and after reviewing the presented evidence both individually and in their interconnection, the Agency determined that Marko Carević, as a public official, violated Article 25, paragraph 2 of the Law on the Prevention of Corruption.
"The named person violated the aforementioned legal provision because he submitted to the Agency the Report on Income and Assets for 2019 No. 02-04-4-4230 dated 30.03.2020, with incomplete and incorrect data, i.e. he did not report data on the possession of a 100% stake in the company "Carinvest" Novi Sad, whose founder is the company "Carnivest" Kotor, i.e. a legal entity owned by public official Marko Carević," the ASK decision explained.
