A decision on the status of former director of the Anti-Corruption Agency (ASK) Jelena Perović could be made by the middle of next week.
This was stated by the President of the Council of that institution, Pavle Ćupić, after a session held today, at which Perović verbally declared herself on the circumstances of her dismissal from August last year.
The media did not attend today's session due to limited space, but instead waited in front of the ASK premises.
Perović told reporters after the session that there were no reasons for her dismissal and that everything was politically motivated.
"There are no reasons for my dismissal, this is all a political circus, I don't know what else to call it, and I think it will end in due course, we'll see how. I believe that there are still people in the Council who have integrity and responsibility, and I am sure that they will not make an illegal decision. I know that they are dismissing me from the position of director of the Agency, that there is a decision that has no reasons, which means that from May 30 until today they have been illegally preventing me from performing my duties as director. My first question to the Council was from which position I am being dismissed and whether it is the position of director, to which they just nodded their heads," said Perović.
When asked by journalists how she would comment on the Basic Court's ruling rejecting the request for a temporary measure - unhindered access to the ASK premises, she said that "it is not a ruling but a temporary measure, the court declared itself incompetent, as I have only seen from the media, what is guaranteed to us by the Constitution, the court does not need to give us because the Constitution gives us the right to work and the right to submit documents, but we were prevented, you were witnesses to all this".
Her lawyer, Nikola Martinović, told reporters that he and Perović did not receive "any of the answers that the Council should have" at today's session.
"We have not received an answer about who is being dismissed or the reasons for the dismissal. There is not a single factual allegation that would contain a violation of the law by Jelena Perović," said Martinović, adding that the Council "has no way out of this legal situation except to delay and thus render meaningless any trial that may now and in the future be conducted regarding the illegal dismissals of people who are at the head of independent institutions," said Martinović.
He said that today they determined that the decision that initiated the proceedings does not contain a single factual allegation that would contain a violation of the law by Jelena Perović.
"What is interesting, and what is good in my opinion, is that this session was audio recorded, so when I receive the entire audio recording of the session, I will share it with the media, so that you can hear the reasons and hear how absurd the current proceedings are," said Martinović.
Ćupić said that Perović rejected any responsibility for signing the decision on variables.

He said that various issues were raised at the session, but that the Council provided answers to all questions.
"Although maybe the other side doesn't think so," said Ćupić.
He announced the next Council session for Thursday at 15 p.m.
"Vijesti" announced today that the Podgorica Basic Court decided that the proposal to secure a temporary measure and allow Perović unhindered access to ASK was unfounded.
According to confirmed information from "Vijesti", Perović's attorney, lawyer Nikola Martinović, requested that the former official be granted access to the Agency's premises, citing the Administrative Court's ruling, which annulled the Council's decision to dismiss her.
