The Ministry of Interior's helicopter unit today carried out a rescue operation on the mountain peak of Zla Kolata in the municipality of Gusinje, within the Prokletije National Park.
"After the Operational Communication Center 112 was reported that a Polish citizen had sustained injuries to his arm and shoulder while hiking, and considering that due to the inaccessible terrain and the severity of the injuries, a safe descent from the mountain was not possible, an AHJ MUP helicopter was deployed, which safely transported the injured hiker to the Clinical Center of Montenegro for further treatment," the MUP announced.
There were three other people at the scene who were not injured and did not request evacuation.
