A large-scale fire broke out in a large multi-storey car garage on Radanovići in Grbalj shortly before 11 am.
The fire was extinguished shortly before 12 noon.
The Commander of the Kotor Protection and Rescue Service, Maksim Mandić, told "Vijesti" that two people who were inside the burning building were rescued.
They were evacuated from the garage roof using a special fire truck - a hydraulic platform for interventions at heights.
The material damage, as we unofficially learned, is extensive.
Mandić said that while extinguishing the fire, two firefighters suffered minor injuries, but that after receiving medical assistance at the Kotor department of the Emergency Medical Assistance Institute of Montenegro in Kotor, they are doing well.
The cause of the fire, which was extinguished by a large number of firefighters, is currently unknown - in addition to members of the Protection and Rescue Services of the municipalities of Kotor and Tivat, members of three volunteer fire departments from Tivat, the "Bogoljub Brezić" Fire Department from Perast, and members of the Luštica Bay Emergency Services also participated in the extinguishing.
In the garage, which, as we unofficially learned, is owned by a Russian citizen, there are a large number of vehicles, most of which belong to foreign citizens who occasionally live in Montenegro, which is why they leave their vehicles here for safekeeping when they are not in our country.
Video DVD "Tivat"
As we learned, the firefighters faced a major problem during the intervention due to the huge traffic jams and delays occurring at the construction site of the Tivat - Jaz boulevard, in the immediate vicinity of which in Radanovići is a multi-storey garage where the fire broke out.
Because of this, fire crews had a very difficult time making their way through the columns of almost stopped cars, which took away valuable time for them to intervene at the fire scene.
