Budva Democrats announced that with today's election of Marija Jovićević as director of DOO "Komunalno Budva", the Democratic Party of Socialists has formally returned to power in Budva.
"This once again confirms that the so-called 'project coalition' - consisting of DPS, Budva nas grad and SDP - was established solely for the purpose of dividing functions and satisfying narrow political interests. Today's 'project' trade has created the conditions for unblocking the Budva Municipal Assembly, whose narrow majority will probably adopt all items on the agenda using the 'head down - hand up' system. Unfortunately, the public is less and less surprised by the fact that DPS is silent about violations of laws and regulations, including the construction of illegal temporary facilities in the midst of a valid ban on construction, even in the immediate vicinity of the office of the president of the Budva Municipal Assembly, Petar Odžić," the Budva branch of the Democrats said in a statement.
Certainly, as they add, that silence is helped by the fact that behind that building stands the stalwart of the Budva Our City list - Nđjo Peković.
"We sincerely hope that the new director of Komunalno, Ms. Jovićević, will have enough courage and will to finally start cleaning up what was left behind by the former director Drago Ivanović and his closest circle of associates. These are serious abuses of official position - from suspicious purchases of trucks and underground containers, to numerous other controversial actions that we will only talk about in the coming days," the statement concludes.
