Podgorica's "Water and Sewerage" ended last year with a deficit of more than 1,2 million euros, according to the company's annual report.
According to that document, the total revenues of "Vodovod" were slightly more than 13 million, and the expenses were 14.431.691 euros.
Councilors of the Capital City Assembly will begin a discussion on the work of several local public institutions and companies today.
As stated in the work document for 2024, "Vodovod"'s revenues from water sales amounted to more than 10 million euros.
"The largest share of revenue is revenue from core activities, which totaled 10.376.448 euros. Revenue from the activation of goods and services amounted to 102.014, and from the maintenance of atmospheric sewage 141.568 euros. Other operating revenue amounted to 1.150.506 euros. When it comes to extraordinary revenue, they amounted to 551.566 euros. Extraordinary revenue is about eight percent lower than planned due to changes in the method of recording revenue from lawsuits," the document signed by the company's CEO states. Aleksandar Nišavić.
According to the report, available on the website of the Capital City Assembly, material and energy costs exceeded 2,4 million euros.
Nišavić's company has 533 employees - 515 of them on permanent contracts and 38 on fixed-term contracts. According to the document, more than 7,5 million euros were spent on salaries and benefits last year.
"Production service costs amounted to 321.593, and depreciation and provisions amounted to 1.683.334 euros. Intangible costs amounted to 1.284.094 euros. Extraordinary expenses amounted to 718.313 euros... It is evident that the company pursued a restrictive cost policy and therefore incurred lower material costs, other personal income costs and production service costs compared to the planned ones," the report states.
As Nišavić states in the report, the company "Water Supply and Sewerage" has invested almost 270.000 euros in the water supply system.
"One of the activities in 2024 related to the construction of a fecal and atmospheric sewage network. The total value of the works carried out in the reporting period amounted to 60.482 euros. The works related to the replacement of the fecal sewage collector in the part of Špira Mugoše Street, the construction of atmospheric sewage in the parking lot in the area of Stanko Radonjić Boulevard, in the parking lot in Vasa Raičković Street, Kralja Nikole Street and in Orjenska Street," the document states.
It is also emphasized that "Vodovod" received more than two thousand requests for water bill reductions last year.
“1.467 requests were accepted. In 639 cases, requests were rejected. Most requests were rejected for procedural reasons... Monthly bills are reduced by 50 percent. Persons with disabilities, beneficiaries of social and child protection rights are entitled to subsidized bills, provided that they regularly settle their obligations to 'Water and Sewerage'.”
