Podgorica Mayor Saša Mujović, with his associates, visited the Kuće Rakića settlement today, where asphalt works have been completed and a road over three kilometers long has been repaired. Mujović said that this is another important project that significantly improves the road infrastructure and connects this part of Podgorica with Zeta and beyond, the Public Relations Department of the Capital City announced.
"This project is a clear message that we want to develop all parts of Podgorica equally, and this road route has multiple significance, both for the citizens of Podgorica and for Zeta and Tuzi," said the mayor, adding that the road is asphalted for a length of 3,25km, the width of the roadway is five meters, and the total value of the works carried out is around 480 euros.
Mujović emphasized that the city administration is aware that there is still a lot of work to be done in the inner city core, but that it is certainly taking care of the balanced development of the city.
"We are aware that there is still a lot of work to be done in the center of Podgorica, but we also know that the residents of certain suburban settlements have been on the margins for a long time and have been waiting for what is theirs for a long time. The new city administration is determined to face this, to correct these injustices and to asphalt roads and sections that have been neglected for years, such as the Kuća Rakića settlement. In addition to this project, we are also implementing intensive activities in other suburban settlements, such as the construction of a water supply system in the Lješanska nahija, Donja Lješanska nahija, and Bratonožići. Today, with great pleasure, I can state that we, together with the Ministry of Public Works, have secured more than a million euros for the construction of a road in Piperi, from Radovče to Kamenik, which is of great importance, and I can please the residents of Piperi that we will soon start implementing that road," he said.
He reminded that numerous activities and projects are currently being prepared or implemented, which may not be sufficiently visible at this moment, but which, as he said, will very soon have concrete results when it comes to improving the quality of life for all citizens of Podgorica.
The director of the city company Putevi doo, Radoš Zečević, said that he was satisfied with the work carried out, and that this company, despite the weather conditions, is actively working on the territory of Podgorica, the Capital City announced.
Zečević also pointed out the importance of improving road infrastructure in the Lijeva Rijeka area, where more than 16 km of roads will be renovated, and announced that the construction of the parking lot in Block V will soon be completed.
